Privacy Policy

Effective 2 October 2026

The short version: Fridgie does not collect, store or share any personal data. There is no account, no server and no connection to your bank. Everything you add stays on your iPhone or iPad.

Who we are

Fridgie: Bill Tracker (“Fridgie”, “the app”) is a bill tracker for iPhone and iPad made by Christian Tania, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app and this website.

What the app stores, and where

To work, Fridgie saves the following only on your device:

  • The bills you add: name, type (same every time, changes each time, installments or one-time), amount, currency, how often it’s due, due dates, number of installments, category, notes, a pay link and what it’s paid with, if you fill those in.
  • What you record for each due date: amounts you enter, payments you mark (amount, date and note), skipped dates, and payments marked automatically for bills you set to autopay.
  • Where each bill’s slip sits on your fridge, and bills you take off the fridge.
  • Your settings, such as your main currency, reminder times, kitchen theme, light switch, sound effects, Face ID lock and app icon, and whether you’ve seen the first-launch guide.
  • Whether Fridgie Pro is active, so the app can open without checking every time.

We never receive this information, and we can’t see it. The “Paid with” field and notes are free text you write yourself, such as “Card •1234” or “Bank transfer”. Please don’t enter full card or account numbers, security codes or passwords: Fridgie never needs them.

What we don’t collect

  • No account or sign-in
  • No analytics or tracking
  • No advertising
  • No bank, card or biller connection

Fridgie contains no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, crash reporting or tracking, and it does not use your data to track you across other apps or websites. It has no servers of its own and never reads your bank, cards, bills or email. It doesn’t pay anything for you: marking a bill paid only records it in the app. Its only internet request of its own is for public exchange rates (see below), and only if you use more than one currency. Its App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.

Exchange rates

If you track bills in more than one currency, Fridgie converts totals into your main currency. For that, it downloads the European Central Bank’s daily reference rates from the public Frankfurter service (frankfurter.dev), at most once a day. The request asks only for the current rates: it contains nothing about you or your bills, and there is no account or identifier. Like any website, that service can see your device’s IP address when it answers. If you use a single currency, Fridgie never makes this request.

Reminders

Due-date and overdue reminders are local notifications: your device schedules them itself. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else to deliver them. You can turn them off in the app’s Settings, per bill, or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Fridgie.

Widgets

Fridgie’s widgets read a small summary of your bills that the app keeps in a folder shared only between the app and its widgets, on your device. It never leaves your device.

Printing and sharing receipts

When you tap Print or share on a receipt, Fridgie draws the receipt as a picture on your device and opens the iOS share sheet. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose where it goes, such as a printer, Messages, email or another app; what happens next is covered by that app or service. If you choose Save Image, iOS asks your permission to add it to Photos. Fridgie can only add pictures: it can’t see or read your photo library.

Face ID

If you turn on Face ID lock (a Fridgie Pro feature), the app asks iOS to check it’s you when you come back to it. Face ID is handled entirely by Apple: your face data stays in your iPhone’s Secure Enclave, and Fridgie only receives a yes or no.

Purchases

Fridgie Pro, whether Pro Yearly, Pro Monthly or Lifetime, is bought through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes every payment and renewal; we never see your name, payment details or Apple Account. The app only receives confirmation from Apple that Pro is active, so it can turn on the extra features. Apple’s handling of your purchase is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Links to other services

If you save a pay link for a bill, opening it takes you to that biller’s own website. What happens there is covered by that biller’s privacy policy, not this one.

Backups

If you back up your iPhone or iPad with iCloud Backup or to a computer, iOS may include Fridgie’s data in that backup, under the settings you chose with Apple. We don’t have access to your backups.

Deleting your data

You can delete any bill in the app: this removes its slip, reminders and payment history. Settings → Danger Zone → Reset All Data deletes all of them at once. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. Because we don’t keep a copy, there’s nothing else to delete.

Children

Fridgie doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children.

This website

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change ever meant collecting data, we would ask for your permission in the app first.
